As anticipated in our previous EU sugar update report, EU sugar imports are up 24% this season totaling 849,804 t by the end of February 2019.
Brazil, South Africa and Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) are the Top 3 origins accounting for 42% of total imported volumes.
Meanwhile, EU "raws for refining" imports - representing 44% of total EU sugar imports so far this season - are up 26% : shipments mainly originating Eswatini, South Africa and Fiji.
