According to newly-released data from the EC, summer weather conditions have reportedly compromised the sugarbeet potential for the upcoming 2019/20 season in a number of of countries and most notably in France, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Austria, Romania and Czech Republic.
However, some other countries (namely Spain, Finland, Sweden and to a lesser extent, Croatia, Lithuania, the UK and Denmark) may have benefited from those conditions.
Overall, EU beet yields are down 3.2% from the previous estimates.
